Optical Dispensers

I first started a career in optical dispensing in 1999 in rural Victoria, and have been part of the Acuity Eyecare family from the very beginning. I love the unique mix of fashion and technology in providing quality frames and lenses to our patients in Epping and Doncaster. I love to educate as I go, ensuring that all of our patients understand how their glasses have been customised to best suit their needs. In my own time I enjoy spending time with my young family, and tinkering with the latest tech gadgets.

I have been working with the Acuity eyecare team since 2021. I enjoy assisting in the selection of frames that are most complimentary for each patient's features; sometimes surprisingly getting them out of their comfort zone.

I have been a part of the Acuity Sale family from almost day 1. After the practice had just opened, I visited for what I thought would be a routine eye test. Over 17 years later and I am still here, working with our local community to provide the best personalised eyecare and eyewear in Gippsland. Having a young family at home, I only work part time, and find keeping fit really enjoyable between juggling the kids.

I joined the Acuity Sale team at the beginning of 2020. After 20 years in the jewellery trade it was time for a new challenge! Currently I’m completing a Diploma in Optical Dispensing which has been difficult but also very rewarding as I am able to put into practice things that I have learned that have improved patient experience and satisfaction. In my own time I love to relax and watch tv with my French bulldog Frankie, and when I get some spare time I love to garden and cook.

I initially started my career in optics in 1981, having completed my Diploma in Optical Dispensing with RMIT. After working for 20 years in various senior roles across a variety of corporate practices, I made the move to independent optometry. Since 2020, I have shared my passion for beautiful eyewear that is both flattering and functional with the Acuity customers at our Doncaster practice. Away from work, I enjoy gardening, the occasional hit of golf and tennis, and all things outdoors.

I first began at Acuity Doncaster in early 2019 as an optical dispenser. I thoroughly enjoy the work I do and find the industry very fascinating and interesting. I enjoy being able to build a connection with patients and feel accomplished when I am able to provide customers with a service they are satisfied with. Outside of work I am a very social person so I see friends whenever I can, and my hobbies include motorcycle riding and going to the gym.

Kay has been a part of Acuity Eyecare Wallan since 2023 and has gathered a wealth of experience as a Qualified Optical Dispenser over the last 30 years. “Working in an independent practice means that I can offer patients access to an extensive range of high quality lenses and frames.” I have found it very rewarding working in my local community and helping with eye care needs in Wallan and the surrounding areas. The best part of my job is seeing people's faces light up when they put on their new glasses or contact lenses.

I started my career in the optical industry in 2001, and have spent my time in the industry working between optometrist practices and optical laboratories. I joined Acuity Eyecare in 2022 and currently work at the Epping practice. My technical mind and love for fashion and problem solving made this field of work ideal for me. Being able to offer the latest in optical lenses and designer frames leads to a great customer experience and gives me great satisfaction.

I’ve been working in optics since 2023 and have recently completed my Certificate IV in Optical Dispensing. I love helping people find frames that make them feel great and guiding them with lens choices so they walk away with eyewear they truly love. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me out sailing the Gippsland Lakes (while dreaming of the Whitsundays), enjoying a good book, or going for a run, if my knees agree.

I joined the Acuity Wallan family in 2014, and have been in the industry for the best part of 30 years. I have a real passion for finding solutions to our patients optical needs, and love the satisfaction of helping someone see better! I get great enjoyment out of keeping up to date with the latest fashion and optical trends, and I’m always keen to learn new things. Away from work, I keep myself busy with my beautiful family, love paper crafting and being involved with my community.
